The Promise of World Peace
The Promise of World Peace was written by the Universal House of Justice in 1985. It was addressed to the peoples of the world and presented to leaders at all levels of society. It outlines the major prerequisites for, as well as the obstacles working against, the establishment of world peace, and invites recipients to consider the impact on social order of all people seeing themselves as members of one universal family. It asserts that world peace is not only possible but inevitable but the widespread belief that human beings are intrinsically hostile and aggressive must give way to the recognition that human beings are fundamentally spiritual in nature; are the creation of God; and are capable of creating a peaceful world.
